RECOMMENDATION
FOOD STORAGE AND DISTRIBUTION
A PILLAR OF AN ALTERNATIVE ECONOMY
Monday 25th May 2026
In year 2020 me who write this physically watched a report of a news organization which showed some people queuing for food in cars in the United States of America with capital in Washington D.C., North America within just one month or thereabouts of that situation. Me who write this physically was quite surprised by this but it made it clear that food storage and distribution is a very important component in developing an alternative economy. Me who write this physically have made it clear prior that for an alternative economy solution to be effective and function properly, it needs to functional effectively in the regular or existing economy as well. This is very important.
What that observation made me who write this physically realise is that a food storage and distribution system needs to be in place which enables people and entities to access food and food stuffs on a continuous basis no matter the prevailing conditions.
In year 2010 while in Germany, me who write this physically observed the household which had food stored for 6 months at a time as a normal and standard practice. There was no crisis and no unrest but this household did this as a standard practice. Me who write this physically have not seen that prior but am aware of some weeks and perhaps some food items like a bag of rice or Gari which may last for months but this was basically most types of food that would feed that household for no less than 6 months if it was not feasible to get to the market or supermarket.
This is basically the model, only that the people themselves don't need to have 6 months storage capacity unless they want and can afford that. This would make the solution more effective and people who can afford to do that should be encouraged to do that. It's only a matter of adjusting how they purchase and after purchasing for the first six months they can replenish each month as they consume food meaning that the 6 months food storage is always intact and the people can enjoy their weekly, monthly or just periodical shopping.
However, the focus of this recommendation is to develop food storage centres or structures in locations all across a geographical area where people live. Depending on the calculations of experts one food storage centre should meet the needs of no less than 1, 000 people for food. In my opinion these food storage locations should be able to store the food needs of no less than 1,000 people in a specific location for no less than one year.
Some people may say that one year is too long. However, the main challenge with the situation in year 2020 was a distribution challenge. Therefore having food storage centres in streets of cities and towns with food storage for 6 months would have been adequate to help solve the challenge at the time. The challenge was getting farm produce from the farms to the customers, cities and supermarkets.
However if the challenge is a production challenge as opposed to a distribution challenge alone as in year 2020, then it means that a longer period of storage is required because the average time of average crops to be planted, cultivated and harvested and then distributed needs to be taken into consideration. It is not enough to focus only on distribution, especially for areas prone to natural disasters. This means that if a farm has its harvest or crops prior to harvest wiped out or destroyed in a considerable manner, the farm cannot supply food produce until it plants again, cultivates again, harvests again and distributes the food produce to the market.
This for many crops that people consume will require no less than one year storage to ensure that this process will not be felt by the consumers.
This one year of food storage gives the legal government the opportunity to solve the challenge while people have access to their regular food needs without any fear at all. The legal government may involve in legally getting food imports, legally providing alternatives or other legal measures to keep food adequately available in the markets.
All this is achieved while the production challenge is solved.
'Impacted Populations: Globally, approximately 1.84 billion people are drought-stricken, with about 4.7% of that population exposed to severe or extreme conditions.
Local Hotspots: The primary regions experiencing the most acute drought and related water crises include Southern Africa, Eastern Africa, the Amazon basin, the Panama Canal region, and the Western United States.'
Drought is an example of a situation that could affect food production and as the data shows there are many people who may be at risk of this in different parts of the Universe.
Therefore in my opinion having a food storage mechanism for no less than one year would ensure that food supplies would always be available and that people would never have to go hungry or lack where to purchase food.
The recommended solution is basically having a food storage location that can store food stuffs of no less than one year. This can be as vertical as feasible to make as much use of the sky as feasible and save as much ground space as feasible.
This can be concrete or some metal which means it is more flexible. It should be easy to access and easy to load with farm produce. It should have a location and monitoring device. In my opinion all the food storage centres in a nation should be on an electronic network that not only shows all the food storage centres on a map but also shows the food levels of each food storage centre. In this manner from a central operations location it is feasible to know which part of the country has food storage of under one year, over one year, under 6 months and more. It is also feasible to calculate how many people would be affected if the prevailing conditions changed in such a manner that affected food production, distribution or both. This would also help in legally and accurately determining if a location needs an additional food storage centre so that one can be built and installed to ease the demand on an existing food storage centre. This means that the entire food storage situation nationally can be legally observed every day, 24 hours a day. This can be integrated for larger than one nation for instance the Eurozone area which will ensure that food availability within the Eurozone is always in excess of the demand irrespective of the prevailing conditions.
The food storage centres in my opinion are locations primarily for supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, delis and more to purchase food from not really individual food consumers. What this means is that people keep going to supermarkets, markets and delis for instance and find the food shelves always stocked with food. Perhaps individuals purchasing large quantities could also purchase from these food centres. These storage centres will have cold parts and room temperature parts.
Because this is an alternative economy solution it needs to work seamlessly with the regular economy. It doesn't wait until a crisis to be activated because then it wouldn't be so efficient in the overall assessment.
Therefore, if these food storage centres are in place, what it means is that farmers and farms supply the food storage centres and the supermarkets, markets and other companies which leverage large amounts of food produce purchase from the food storage centre. The food storage centre's may be optionally structured in such a manner that the farms may rent a space in the food storage centers which keeps their own produce. This enables supermarkets with farm clients to just purchase their food supplies from the farm store in the food storage center nearest to them.
It is feasible to make the food storage centres of different sizes depending on the demand, location, available space, cost and other important considerations.
When this is in place it would be integrated seamlessly and would not be an inconvenience in any way manner or form but would help to increase efficiency.
Because this system is legally working continuously and effectively any food shortage for whatever reason, perhaps an industrial strike, drought, natural disaster or even as in the 2020 situation would not prevent the food shelves from being kept stocked up and would not prevent the restaurants and hotels from selling meals which means the people are able to live peacefully, normally and pleasantly.
When this distribution system is integrated into the existing food distribution system in a nation or location an alternative economy is formed and operating in synchronisation with the regular and existing economy. Whenever necessary the alternative economy is activated that is food supplies continue being made from food storage centres even if new farm products are not available or being supplied to the cities, towns or other locations for some days, weeks or even months.
It is also recommended that some food storage centres are kept basically like emergency services which can be taken to a location quickly to augment food availability if needed. There should also be some food storage centres for easy deployment to new locations such as refugee camps. The number of these can be calculated based on the demand and the observations from the central operations location.
If a forecast mechanism perhaps of some metrology capabilities is integrated into the central operations location it may be feasible to forecast a natural disaster and its expected impact as well as locations of impact, calculate additional food storage centres required if any and make these available in such a manner that people affected don't lack access to food even from the impact of a natural disaster. This when perfected would be very efficient and in my opinion quite resplendent.
The power and wonder of this system is that once integrated it functions perfectly normal and all off a sudden one year food float capacity has been introduced into the national or continental food distribution system which kicks in whenever necessary.
In my opinion this system will save very many lives and nations over decades and more who legally implement this.

Those recommended may choose to cooperate with each other to implement this recommendation or implement this on their own as they desire.
Those recommended can develop this solution for other nations and markets to earn revenues from its implementation or as donor aid for poorer nations which may need but cannot afford such a solution, though this can be implemented at various strata of cost. This is just a recommendation.
Me who write this physically may make this recommendation to other nations as well.
