LEGALLY ESCAPING THE ENTRAPMENTS OF FORCED OR IMPOSED ACTION

Tuesday, 6th January 2026

For those under the heavy burden of compulsion implication this is very important.

First, make a very clear distinction of anything you are compelled to do that you don't want to do and make a note of that. Remember, obeying orders is not a defence to a war crime or a crime against humanity.

Second, and this is most important but could be challenging. Refuse to benefit from the proceeds of that compulsion. For instance if you are compelled to say something that is not true in order to convince some person about something, refuse any benefit that comes from that. That way if there is litigation on the matter it will be clear that you acted out on duress and had no benefit for the action. This is crucial because many people think they can outsmart those compelling or imposing actions on them and still benefit from those actions. The moment you seek to benefit from an action that you yourself have clearly stated you were forced to do makes whoever imposed the compulsion very happy because that shows intention and desire which weakens the defence of compulsion. This is very important for people who are forced into certain wrong actions and are responsible for other people like political leaders, entrepreneurs, community leaders and others. If you are forced to do something legitimate or legal it is not wrong to benefit from your labour however it should be made clear that you were forced otherwise the person forcing might try to disadvantage you. For instance if you are forced to make a painting that is your sweat and competence but it is still important to make it clear you were forced if that is the situation.

Third, is sincerity, sincerity and more sincerity. One of the single greatest weapons to legally and accurately escape imposed action is sincerity though some times that requires dexterity to avoid implication. The reason for this is that sincerity makes the entire matter plain. It gives no room for aggrandisements, exaggerations or distortions of the situation. Therefore it becomes crystal clear exactly what is happening. People can see who is forcing and who is being forced. People can understand the reason for certain actions and better relate with those forced to act that way. This also protects the person being forced.

However, once there is pressure to commit a crime it can be refused and completely defended.

Any person or leader or entity being forced on a regular basis especially institutionally should seek the support of the legal law. Find out if there is any illegality in what you are being asked to do. Make that your reason for not being able to comply with that instruction or imposition. This is very important for nations who are being forced to take actions which will implicate them and their people and put them in further bondage. If an action is not expressly illegal but could have negative implications then find out what those implications are and then make it clear the consequence or consequences of going ahead with the forced action. Make this known clearly to all concerned. Because if that imposed action causes some sort of challenge or crisis, the blame would be on those who forced the action to be taken even though they were informed of the implications especially the negative repercussions of the action they were forcing or imposing.

It is important to always remember that those who impose or force action on others are always looking for legitimacy from those who they imposed those actions on or some form of acquiescence to claim that they did not compel but the person did that freely. That is why the points above are so important to people who find themselves in such situations especially those who superintend over others in one capacity or the other.

This does not condemn compulsion because it is required to clear a blocked road or to empty a location in a disaster zone for instance. But it shows how not to be defeated by it and how to escape it, hopefully.
